I had a blast shooting Rachael and David’s Manchester Hall wedding photos. This lovely couple wanted a wedding that went against tradition and put informality at the forefront. They also wanted to get hitched in the heart of Manchester. It made Manchester Hall the perfect choice for their celebrations.
Manchester Hall is a city wedding venue holding a rich history. Dating back to the 1920’s, the architecture is truly impressive inside and out. Manchester Hall has been recently refurbished and modernised ready for weddings. This gives the venue a unique blend of modern style, historic charm and off-beat quirkiness.
Manchester Hall provided a wonderful setting for David and Rachael’s wedding celebrations. Here’s a glimpse into this joyous big day that combined historic grandeur with relaxed fun.
Manchester Hall Wedding Photos
David and Rachael decided to keep their wedding intimate by inviting a small number of guests to their ceremony. It was conducted by David’s uncle, who had a great sense of humour and directed the proceedings perfectly! The ceremony room at Manchester Hall is full of original period features, giving the occasion a timeless elegance.
Following the ceremony, Rachael and David’s guests were treated to an intimate dinner. The light and airy dining room was set up with a long banquet-style table, encouraging a relaxed and chatty atmosphere. The tables were beautifully decorated with simple yet elegant touches. All the guests received a succulent table setting to take home.
David and Rachael skipped formal speeches and did a short toast before moving onto a relaxed wedding reception. They set up a gaming area for the guests to play Mario Kart and Street Fighter arcade games, which went down brilliantly!
Creative Wedding Photography
It’s always a joy to capture creative wedding photography with my couples. David and Rachael opted for a first look before their ceremony so they could walk down the aisle with less nerves. Rachael met David outdoors on the terrace and it was a really special moment witnessing the joy and surprise on both of their faces!
I enjoyed exploring the stunning interiors of Manchester Hall with Rachael and David, especially finding the building’s quirky original features such as the checkerboard floor. We also loved the grand staircase for wedding photos, and it was amazing to capture the sunset over the terrace in the evening!

Manchester Hall is an iconic landmark in the heart of the city and has a fascinating history. It was originally constructed in 1920 and served as the Freemasons’ Hall. Inside the building, you’ll still find echoes of it’s past with lots of quirky features.
