ABOUT CASSANDRA

Hello! My name is Cass and I’m a wedding photographer Manchester, based in Sale. I’m originally from the West Country but I’ve lived in the Manchester and Cheshire area for several years now and I love it! When I’m not at weddings I like to explore Manchester, play tennis and cuddle up with my two fluffy cats Aslan & Zelda. I’m also learning Spanish in my spare time and I always like to practice if I can find a willing listener!

I’ve always loved recording events and I used to take pictures all the time when I was a teenager. I went on to study photography at the University of Westminster and gained a 1st class degree in Photographic Arts before setting up Cassandra Lane Photography in 2011. I shot my first wedding two weeks before my husband Josh and I got married. It’s fair to say I’ve been hooked on weddings ever since! In the past 7 years I’ve clocked up many miles travelling around the UK and Europe capturing all the fun of my couples’ wedding days. I find my job extremely rewarding and I see each wedding as a unique opportunity to capture fun, natural wedding photography. This year I have added video highlights as a new service to my couples and I’m looking forward to documenting all the real moments in video as well as stills.

I describe my style as creative wedding photography because my shots are joyful, colourful and fun, as well as being a little bit quirky. I’m a sociable sort, so rather than being a ‘fly on the wall’ you will often find me chatting with guests or throwing shapes on the dance floor as I’m snapping away. My approach on a wedding day is relaxed and informal as I want you to feel comfortable with my presence, as if I was just another guest. Even if you are camera shy, you can have stylish, natural wedding photographs that illustrate what a brilliant time you had.

My unique wedding photography work has been featured in some of the UK’s most popular publications and wedding blogs such as Rock My Wedding, Love My Dress, Rock n Roll Bride & Wedding Ideas Magazine. I was also a North West regional finalist for Best Photographer at the 2017 Wedding Industry Awards, yay! I’m a member of The Guild of Photographers and I am also a recommended supplier on The List by Rock My Wedding and Mr & Mrs Unique, where you can find the best alternative wedding suppliers in your area.

If you’re wondering if I’m the right wedding photographer for you, I offer complimentary consultations in Sale over coffee or a glass of fizz. It’s the perfect way to get to know each other and chat more about your plans. If you’re too far away to visit me in person, we can arrange a FaceTime instead. Simply get in touch with me to find out if your date is available and we’ll go from there.

As well as being a Manchester wedding photographer, I offer natural family portraits and fun family photo shoots in my same colourful photography style. You can choose to have your family shoot in the comfort of your own home or in a location of your choice, where we can get creative and have fun with your family photos. A range of digital image collections, print products and albums are available to buy from your shoot. If you would like to book a family portrait shoot please contact me or pop me an email for pricing options and availability.

In 2016 I set up a wedding photography training workshop with my friend and fellow photographer Ayesha called Shoot Joy. We have since run workshops for photographers at two gorgeous Manchester wedding venues and we continue to support our Shoot Joy community with a Facebook group and regular events. If you’re a photographer (or an aspiring one) and would like to be added to the Shoot Joy mailing list, please send me an email so I can keep you in the loop.
