Gorton Monastery Wedding PhotosWe’re at an iconic Manchester wedding venue today for some Gorton Monastery wedding photos. Rochelle and George tied the knot in July and they couldn’t have picked a better setting for their celebrations. Their wedding blended the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood with laid-back party vibes. All set in the historical grandeur of Manchester Monastery, a place close to their hearts.

Rochelle describes Gorton Monastery as ‘epic’ and I couldn’t agree more. Built in the 1860’s, the monastery is an imposing Victorian building on the Manchester skyline. Manchester Monastery is thoroughly awe-inspiring inside too… The impressive interior features Gothic archways, an intricately decorated altar and beautiful stained glass windows.

Rochelle took inspiration from old Hollywood for her vintage bridal look and she looked incredible! Her vintage dress, Hollywood waves and red lip were on-point for the drama of a vintage wedding at Manchester Monastery. She was perfectly accompanied by her new husband George, who was looking sharp in black tie.

Rochelle told me that she wanted the ‘beauty of the building shine through’ on their wedding day. So she and George kept things simple when it came to all other details. They wanted their guests to appreciate Manchester Monastery in all its glory, falling in love with it as much as they have.

Despite choosing a dramatic backdrop for their Manchester Monastery wedding photography, George and Rochelle wanted their day to be lots of fun. Music was important to them and they had Northern String Quartet play during the ceremony and drinks reception. After dinner, George Michael and Freddie Mercury joined us for a surprise performance! The impersonator was a brilliant entertainer and it was so much fun capturing all the guests’ reactions.

It’s always difficult to do a wedding justice using only words! It’s so much better to look through Rochelle and George’s Gorton Monastery wedding photos instead. And if you have three minutes to spare, you can watch their wedding highlights video too!

Manchester Monastery is an iconic place to get married. This breathtaking architectural gem was constructed in the 19th century and is considered a Victorian Gothic masterpiece. Originally serving as a Franciscan friary, Manchester Monastery underwent restoration to preserve its historic significance. Today Gorton Monastery hosts exhibitions, events and concerts. Thanks to the dedicated team looking after The Monastery, it continues to stand as a symbol of religious heritage and historic architecture.
