Fun Wedding Photography in Manchester
Time for some fun wedding photography in Manchester! Jen & Jamie’s wedding took place in the city centre on Sunday. They chose the wonderful Great John Street Hotel for their big day and had a relaxed urban wedding that was lots of fun. I really enjoyed capturing all the laughs that Jen, Jamie and their family and friends enjoyed together. Together with my second shooter Imogen, I had a great time celebrating with this lively crowd!
The day began with the hustle and bustle of getting ready in the bridal suite at Great John St Hotel. Jen’s female family members were all around to lend their support. Which meant a room full of chatter, laughter and activity (like playing cards with your rollers in!) The gang made me feel right at home with a banging party playlist. What a way to kick off a fun day!
Jen wore a gorgeous wedding dress (with pockets!) by Justin Alexander. Her crew of bridesmaids looked stunning in grey sparkles carrying simple bouquets of white roses with eucalyptus. The boys wore black to complement the stylish choices for a laid back wedding in the city.
Jamie and Jen’s ceremony was personal and fun, with a reading from The Power of Love; the signature tune from from Jen & Jamie’s favourite film Back to the Future. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed beers and fizz in the February sunshine on the terrace before settling down to a yummy hog roast.
Fun Wedding at Great John Street Hotel
So what are the ingredients for planning a fun wedding at Great John Street Hotel? Firstly, Jen & Jamie had chosen to have a later ceremony which meant they and their guests could relax on the morning of their wedding. A later start meant the daytime celebrations rolled straight into the evening party. And it was also the perfect excuse to crack open the tequila during bridal prep!
By the evening, everyone was ready to dance the night away! Imogen and I had great fun snapping away on the dance floor with Jen & her friends. (Imogen does a great dance to Liberty X by the way!) The party was in full flow with all the guests mingling and dancing and enjoying the views from the terrace at Great John St.
Jen & Jamie’s big day was everything you could want from a Manchester city centre wedding. It was stylish, relaxed and fun, with everyone having a lovely time. Thank you for having us Jen & Jamie!
Great John Street Hotel Wedding Photography
Great John Street Hotel was originally a Victorian school house and has now been transformed into a luxury townhouse hotel. Weddings at Great John St Hotel take place on the rooftop lounge and ‘playground’ terrace on the top floor. This is the perfect space for taking in views of the Manchester skyline whilst relaxing with your guests. You can even have sparklers on the terrace just like Jen & Jamie! As the hotel is part of the Eclectic Hotels group, you’ll find that it’s a stylish and quirky place to hold your wedding, as well as being excellently located in Manchester city centre.
