Lily & Tom’s engagement shoot Fletcher Moss was my first photography shoot of 2019. It was brilliant to kick off this year and dust off the Christmas cobwebs by shooting a smiley, happy couple in one of my favourite locations.
It was a chilly old day so I was wrapped up warm (sticking with the Christmas theme by resembling the pigeon lady from Home Alone!) Unlike me, Lily & Tom were looking very stylish and they were an absolute delight to photograph. I really enjoyed getting to know them both ahead of their wedding in the Spring. They have booked Albert Hall in Manchester and I can’t wait to show you their photographs. It’ll be a good one!

Engagement Shoot Fletcher Moss
Fletcher Moss Gardens are a beautiful place to visit. I used to go there lots when I lived in Withington and you can walk for miles along the river. The surrounding trails around the park are great locations for engagement photographs too. The tall trees lining the main path are almost famous since I’ve used them in lots of engagement shoots and weddings over the years! You can see them featured in my Wedding Photography Didsbury House Hotel at my blog.
Why have an engagement shoot?
An engagement shoot is essentially a trial run of the portraits on your wedding day. We spend around an hour exploring the location you’ve chosen and taking relaxed and natural pictures of you both. I’ll put you into some very simple poses that are easy to understand and then I’ll snap away as you both have a chat to each other. If you’re camera shy, it’s a great idea to have an engagement shoot as makes it easier on the actual day. It’s also a great way to get to know me better ahead of your day and feel more comfortable with having your pictures taken.
