Retro Wedding Photography Manchester: Sarah & Joe

Sarah & Joe tied the knot on Monday in central Manchester. We started the day getting ready in one of the suites in the Great John St. Hotel with Sarah’s mum, her bridesmaid and bridesman. I just loved Sarah’s 1950s style short dress which was from The Case of the Curious Bride. Her Alice in Wonderland inspired paper flower bouquet and red petticoat looked perfect with the dress, and of course the petticoat was super fun to twirl all day!

The ceremony took place at Great John St. and Sarah & Joe walked out down the aisle to The Jesus and Mary Chain’s Just Like Honey (an excellent choice in my opinion!).  It was another beautifully crisp winters day, making Great John St. the perfect venue since it has a lovely rooftop terrace for taking in the Manchester skyline whilst sipping on Prosecco (the guests, not me!).

We went for a wander around MOSI and Castlefield for portraits, just a stones throw from the hotel. The light was stunning and there were lots of people about offering their congratulations to Sarah & Joe, which is always very sweet.

Although I didn’t stay until the evening, a little bird told me DJ Andy Murphy was playing some top tunes later in the night including the theme from Star Wars for the first dance!

Thank you Sarah & Joe for having me along and congratulations! x
