You may recognise Rachel & Rob from their wedding last year at Manchester’s Midland Hotel. They had decided to have an intimate wedding ceremony with close family and friends and a year on, they had a big party to celebrate! Rachel & Rob chose another vintage Manchester landmark for their wedding reception/anniversary party: Victoria Baths.
Victoria Baths is such a special venue for wedding photography. Completed in 1904, Victoria Baths was once deemed “the most splendid municipal bathing institution in the country” and was Manchester’s most popular swimming baths until it closed in 1993. It has now been lovingly restored and is available for weddings!
I was spoilt for choice when it came to finding quirky locations around Victoria Baths for portraits and group photographs. Rachel & Rob’s friends really got into the spirit of things too and were soon running in and out of the changing cubicles and ‘swimming’ in the empty pool! The guests were also treated to guided tours of the baths to find out more about the history of the building. Then it was onto lots of cake and dancing the night away to top tunes from Jukebox wedding band.
Congratulations to Rachel & Rob – thank you for having me along to celebrate with you (again!)…
