Rivington Barn Wedding Photography
Phew, it’s been a busy week here at Cassandra Lane Photography HQ! Layna & Ian’s Rivington Hall Barn wedding photography was the first of three weddings I shot last week. It was great to kick off this series of weddings with a bang by shooting Layna & Ian’s happy day! I had met Layna at her sister Islay’s wedding to Patrick four years ago (see their Ashfield House Hotel wedding photography at my blog) and it was wonderful to catch up with the gang and join them for another big family celebration.
Layna and Ian had their marriage ceremony at St. Andrew’s Church Over Hulton. Layna arrived for the wedding in style in a vintage car with her bridesmaids and cute flower girls before walking down the aisle to meet Ian. After the ceremony, the guests gathered in the church for ice creams, which went down a treat of course!
Rivington Hall Barn Wedding
After we had devoured our ice-creams, we headed to Rivington Hall Barn for the reception. This gorgeous Tudor barn venue had been decorated with loads of twinkly lights and sunflowers. My second shooter Ayesha and I were big fans of the sunflowers as they looked so cheerful and colourful. Once everyone had arrived, Layna & Ian walked out to a shower (and I mean proper shower!) of confetti to start their reception.
The grounds of Rivington Hall Barn are lovely for photographs and we had lots of fun exploring the surroundings with Layna & Ian. These two were such a smiley, happy couple and it was great to create some fun portraits with them both!
Back at the reception, we were treated to a yummy dinner followed by a big knees up in the evening with the Ceilidh band. A Ceilidh is always great fun for guests and makes for fun photos of the dancing. It was great to see everyone really going for it. Even Layna was spinning and twirling to the music, despite having a long train on her dress!
