I have a brand new colourful wedding for you today: Katie & Andy’s outdoor tipi wedding at Penney Fields in Cheshire. I do love a good outdoor wedding and after the rainy couple of weeks we’ve had, it was lovely to be out in the countryside celebrating Katie & Andy’s special day. Penney Fields was a new venue to me too. Essentially, it’s a field in Cheshire that offers a blank canvas for you to create your big day, your way. For Andy & Katie this meant putting up a beautiful Timber & Canvas tipi and filling it with all their favourite people!

Katie & Andy chose to have an outdoor ceremony conducted by Louise from The Ceremony Company, who I have had the pleasure of working with many times before. Louise always creates a relaxed atmosphere for our couples, encouraging them to express themselves and show their personalities in the ceremony. This ceremony was no different, with lots of laughs shared by Katie & Andy throughout! Louise led Andy & Katie in a hand-fasting ceremony in which members of their family helped them tie the knot by putting ribbons around their joined hands. Andy & Katie then walked down the aisle as husband and wife to loads of confetti!

Regular readers of my blog will know that I’m a massive fan of colour. So of course all the colourful details at Andy & Katie’s wedding were right up my street! From the beautiful pink, purple and yellow tones used in Katie’s bouquet and the fresh flower crowns, to the wonderful rainbow floral arch, the flowers were a dream. Every colourful detail had been thought out inside the tipi too. The cake looked amazing and there were even rainbow napkins for the guests. How cute were those pink tutus for the flowers girls too? I want one!

To complement the relaxed feel of the ceremony, Andy & Katie chose an informal Spanish theme for their drinks reception and food. Whilst guests sipped on cocktails and tucked into tapas, we were treated to the chilled sounds of the Cuban band playing away. The guests had a delicious paella for the wedding breakfast (my favourite!) and did someone say hot, fresh churros for dessert?!

Long into the evening, the guests enjoyed chatting outside. Whilst the little guests enjoyed playing limbo and blowing bubbles all afternoon. As soon as the dance floor opened there were some serious moves going on! Katie even managed to do the worm in her beautiful dress!

Congratulations Katie & Andy and thank you for having us!
