Chetham’s Wedding Photography
Wow, what a pleasure to do Dani & Jimmy’s Chetham’s wedding photography on Saturday! After 8 years of being a wedding photographer, it’s an amazing feeling to discover a new Manchester wedding venue that really knocks your socks off! Jimmy & Dani are lovers of history, books and all things Harry Potter, so they couldn’t have chosen a more fitting place to say ‘I do’ than Chetham’s.
Dani and her bridesmaids got ready at King Street Townhouse. I loved Dani’s short blue and ivory wedding dress from House of Mooshki. It was a beautiful shade of blue and was absolutely perfect for twirling! The bridesmaids looked lovely in midnight blue and all of them carried pretty paper flowers which Dani had hand-made from books.
Jimmy & Dani chose to defy wedding tradition and met each other in Chetham’s Library before the ceremony. They did their first look surrounded by their bridesmaids and ushers. As we knew there would be, there was so much emotion in the room as they saw each other for the first time! It was great fun to do their couples portraits before the ceremony. I loved exploring the old library for natural wedding photographs. It was so atmospheric.
Carrying on the non-traditional aspects of their wedding, Dani & Jimmy walked down the aisle together before saying their personalised vows in front of their family and friends. The Great Hall at Chetham’s was such an impressive setting and really made you feel like you were witnessing a wedding at Hogwarts!
Harry Potter Themed Wedding
After the ceremony, we headed to King Street Townhouse to carry on the celebrations. Jimmy & Dani had done a brilliant job putting together their Harry Potter themed wedding. There were lots of little wizardy details and there was a wonderful cake featuring the happy couple in Hogwarts uniform alongside their pet rabbits! Needless to say, the guests were delighted with theme and throughly enjoyed all the details to explore.
By the time the sun set over the gorgeous rooftop at King Street, all the guests were ready to party! A special shout out goes to Dani’s aunty Joan who was an incredible dancer and literally didn’t stop all night!
Congratulations Dani & Jimmy and thank you for having Kirstie & I along!

Chetham’s Library Wedding
Wow, what can I say? The library at Chetham’s is a very special place brimming with history. It even smells amazing thanks to all the old books on the shelves! Did you know that Marx and Engels wrote together in the window where Dani & Jimmy had their pictures taken?! How amazing that this historic building is open as a wedding venue in Manchester. It really was a treat to visit and I would love to go back again soon to do more Chetham’s wedding photography.
