What a difference a year makes in wedding photography! Due to the obvious, I had an unusually quiet wedding season in 2020. I ended the year with a very short but sweet Best Wedding Photos, which also included my family portraits and personal branding work.
In 2021, weddings have really come back with a bang!!!
This year was my busiest ever as a wedding photographer. Since many of my couples postponed their 2020 weddings to this year, I ended up with a double dose of celebrations to enjoy! Wedding season lasted longer too and I was busy shooting weddings well into November, which is normally a quieter time for me.
If I could sum up 2021 in one word it would be ‘anticipation’… Many of my couples had to wait a very long time to get married and the excitement and happiness really showed on your lovely faces! Huge congratulations to all of you who tied the knot in 2021. You smashed it!

Wedding Photographer
Following on from last wedding photography season, the trend for micro-weddings continued into 2021. Many of my couples hosted smaller, more relaxed wedding days with less structure. I’m seeing more and more couples ditch convention, break with traditions and have the day they really want. And I’m all for it!
Even bigger weddings with larger guest numbers continued to have a laid-back atmosphere, with many couples opting for fun entertainment, sharing menus, street food trucks and doughnut stacks to keep it casual.
One thing I had really missed in 2020 was throwing some shapes… It was wonderful to see dancing back by the summer months! I had really missed the buzz of a packed dance floor and I’m glad to see them back for good.
A big thank you to my couples who had to postpone from 2020 into 2021… Many of you had to change plans multiple times and it was brilliant to see you finally get there! I can’t thank you enough for being so patient.
Personal Branding Photography
Last year, I kept myself busy doing much more personal branding photography. I’m pleased to say I’ve carried on with my commercial work this year, producing vibrant portraits for a variety of small businesses. I launched a separate personal branding Instagram account – please give it a follow!
I’ve continued to work alongside That’s Her Business offering complete branding packages to women-led small businesses. In December, we were delighted to win the IPSE Freelancer Collaboration Award which recognised our work as a team. I even have a real trophy in my office!
I’ve also managed to squeeze in a few family shoots too. Please contact me if you’d like to book one whilst I’m quieter in the run up to summer.
Best Wedding Photography 2021
It’s been pretty tough picking my favourite wedding photography from this year’s bumper selection! As always, it’s a pleasure to re-visit the ‘class of 2021’ and remember all the good times I’ve had capturing weddings.
As usual, I’ve been inspired by colourful photographs of people having a grand old time! I’m glad we’ve shared lots of fun memories in 2021.
I’m now having a well-earned rest from weddings over the next two months. I look forward to recharging my batteries and coming back to wedding season 2022 feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Huge thanks to all my couples, fellow suppliers and everyone who has supported me in 2021. It’s been a busy one! Much love to you all and here’s to 2022!
