Amy & Rich’s wedding was a real mix of spectacular grandeur and DIY fun-times. The couple held their wedding ceremony at opulent stately home Sudbury Hall, followed by a homemade reception at Lower Damgate Farm in the Peak District. This contrast provided lots of photo opportunities – as you might guess from this bumper blog post!
Rich, Amy, their family & friends had put so much effort into personalising their wedding day. Everybody had come together to help them make all the details, which included homemade treats, personalised wine glasses, a sweet buffet cart, an infinity number table plan (romantic & geeky!) and a patchwork guest book. The spectacular homemade wedding cake definitely deserves a special mention – each tier had a significance to Rich & Amy and the detail of the decoration was truly awesome, as you can see from Amy & Rich’s reactions! Their wedding also featured the first wedding pork-pie cake I have seen – complete with ceremonial cutting!
Photographer Rich had worked hard to source vintage cameras for the guests to snap away with at the reception. Much enjoyment was had by the smaller guests bouncing away on the trampoline taking pictures of my second shooter Jennifer Peel & I! And of course, we also got to play with the Holga and Fuji Instax ourselves!
The sun came out just in time for Amy & Rich’s portraits in the surrounding fields and the stormy weather meant that the light and clouds were just perfect! Amy looked stunning in her custom made wedding dress and luckily for me, she wasn’t afraid to roll around in the field for me to get the shot!
In the evening, the guests were entertained by The Retrosettes who went down a storm!
Thank you to Amy & Rich for letting us share their wedding day & their family and friends for being so lovely. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Dobson!
