Alternative Wedding Photography Manchester
Time for a big splash of colourful and alternative wedding photography Manchester on my blog today! Lauren & John’s wedding took place at New Year and was a total joy to photograph. The relaxed atmosphere of John & Lauren’s big day was right up my street, as was their choice of street food for their reception (yum!) It was great to shoot at Fairfield Social Club. It had been on my bucket list for some time, and was such an inspiring space for creating images.
Lauren & John wanted a very laid-back day that would suit their personalities. Their focus was on everyone having a good time, enjoying being together and eating delicious food (oh and craft beer, of course!) Fairfield Social Club in the heart of Manchester city centre was the perfect choice for them. This venue has a true urban feel thanks to the exposed bricks and high arched ceiling. It lends itself to an informal wedding party and was the ideal space for a DIY wedding day like John & Lauren’s.

Lauren & John chose to have a Humanist ceremony which was conducted by the lovely Charlotte Simpson. The ceremony included heartfelt vows from Lauren & John and involved their family and friends in a quiz about the couple. It true party style, John walked down the aisle with a beer in one hand and Lauren’s hand in the other! After the ceremony, Lauren & John also received a special traditional blessing from John’s granddad, which was lovely.
After some urban wedding portraits around the venue, Lauren & John started their wedding party. The guests had a choice of delicious street food options to choose from and a killer playlist to dance the night away to. It was the perfect set-up to get people chatting and make everyone feel comfortable.
Thank you to Lauren & John for having us along to capture your day! Watch their wedding highlights film below and then scroll down for their wedding photographs.
